life skills
Let me help you develop life-long skills that matter to you!
Many teenagers are not equipped to balance the increased workload and social demands of high school with caring for themselves. Practicing targeted life skills with a trusted adult mentor can help set up teenagers for a lifetime of social success.

academic coaching
Let me help you learn to manage (and maybe even enjoy) your school work!
High school is a steep learning curve for many teenagers, in particular the big transitions in years 7, 10, 11 and the HSC. With the classroom focus largely on content and subject-specific skills development and with wellbeing time focussed mainly on the group not the individual, many students struggle to find the time, motivation and guidance to discover how to organise themselves and develop their executive functioning skills to achieve their definition of academic success.

community experiences
Let me help you take action in your community and develop your global citizenship skills!
Working meaningfully and effectively with others is key to success in one’s personal and professional life. Join a group of like-minded teens to plan, create and implement an ongoing, solutions-oriented volunteer opportunity that matters to you and your community. Develop your global citizenship skill set in the process.

A month is defined here as a period of 4 consecutive 7 day weeks from the start of service.
A catch-up is short a series of texts or ~ 15 min phone call between me and the mentee after the 1 hour weekly session.
A progress update is communications between me and parents/guardians – either a ~ 15 min phone call or in writing.
Please let me know your ideas for a modified schedule that works for you. Changes such as the frequency of sessions or the length of sessions can be arranged.
Numerous studies show that it is important to ensure mentoring partnerships involving teens are consistent and stable over a significant period of time. Therefore, a commitment of at least 1 session per week for a minimum of 3 months is essential at the beginning of the partnership to achieve noticeable results. There will be opportunities for review of this arrangement, with an established process for winding down the partnership as the teen gains independence and progress on their goals. Please allow the teen’s needs to guide this process as everyone’s journey of personal growth is unique.
