You have been the single most influential teacher in my life over the past 13 years. You taught me how to think widely and deeply. You expanded my understanding of the world and strengthened my critical, analytical and abstract reasoning skills which have been invaluable in Year 12 and will serve me well in the years to come. You pushed me academically and saw potential in me which others before you had not. What has made you the most influential ‘non-family’ adult of my life this far is what you taught me about myself. You fostered my self-confidence and encouraged me to think more deeply about who I am in ways which I had never before. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

I hope you know how much of an impact you had on me as a teacher. I really felt inspired and mentored by you. I will never forget your encouragement to lobby the Head of School for more recognition of Aboriginal Australians. Now that I’m teaching at the school, I can’t wait to share the importance of social justice with the students. I hope to have at least half of the impact on them as you had on me.

Thanks for being such an amazing House teacher and for always listening to everyone’s concerns, big or small. Your positive attitude towards everything has made House time so enjoyable and something I always look forward to.

Liza is a gifted educator with a big heart. She connects really well with teens and helps them to find and grow their inner drive. It has been inspirational to work alongside her and watch her bring out the best in many young people. I have seen countless students thrive and flourish in her care. She will tailor her sessions to their individual needs, goals and passions. Liza has a diverse range of skills, qualifications and life experiences which she utilises in her work with teens. But the thing that sets her apart most of all is her passion and empathy. She can see the potential in all students and always seems to know how to bring it out.

Liza is a passionate and dedicated educator who has a successful track record working with teenagers and young people in general. Her philosophy of education expands to outside of the classroom to the community in general. She challenges young people to better themselves and to have the courage of their convictions to put their abilities to good use in achieving their goals. I would highly recommend Liza as a mentor for any teenager looking to find their way in the world.
